Report on Two-Day ICT Workshop
Salafiyya Training College, Karinganad organized a Two-Day ICT Workshop on 29th and 30th June 2026 from 10:00 a.m. onwards with the objective of enhancing the digital competencies of teacher trainees and equipping them with modern technological skills for effective teaching and learning. The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with emerging ICT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that can enrich classroom practices and improve educational outcomes.
The
workshop was led by Mr. Sudheesh P., Assistant Professor, Salafiyya Training
College, Karinganad, and ICT/AI Resource Person. In his sessions, he emphasized
the growing importance of integrating technology into education and highlighted
the role of digital literacy in preparing future teachers for
technology-enabled classrooms. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on
activities, he introduced participants to a wide range of ICT and AI
applications that support innovative teaching practices.
The
sessions covered various AI tools, including AI-powered interactive
platforms, AI-assisted video generation, audio generation, image generation,
presentation tools, and AI-supported writing and content development.
Participants gained practical experience in utilizing these tools to create
engaging instructional materials, educational videos, presentations, and
digital learning resources.
The
workshop also focused on essential ICT tools for teaching and learning,
including Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-content
video creation, blog creation, digital textbook development, online assessment
and feedback tools, and collaborative learning platforms. Participants
actively engaged in practical exercises that enabled them to develop digital
content, design effective presentations, prepare assessment materials, and
explore collaborative online learning environments.
The
workshop adopted a hands-on learning approach, allowing participants to
practice each application under expert guidance. Interactive discussions,
practical sessions, and collaborative activities created an engaging learning
environment that encouraged participants to explore the educational potential
of technology. At the end of the workshop, e-certificates were provided
to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the
training programme.
The
workshop concluded with a feedback session, during which participants expressed
their appreciation for the practical nature of the training and the opportunity
to learn contemporary ICT and AI tools relevant to the teaching profession.
Outcome
The ICT
Workshop significantly enhanced the digital competencies of teacher trainees by
providing practical exposure to modern ICT and AI tools. Participants developed
the skills required to create digital learning resources, integrate technology
into classroom instruction, conduct online assessments, and utilize AI applications
for educational purposes. The programme empowered future educators with the
technological knowledge and confidence necessary to meet the evolving demands
of twenty-first-century teaching and learning.
