Community Living Camp “ഇവിടം 2K25” – Report

Salafiyya Training College, Karinganad successfully organized a four-day Community Living Camp titled “ഇവിടം 2K25” from 12th to 15th November 2025 at Aashrayam Rural Development Society, Kollengode, Palakkad. The camp was conducted with the objective of fostering social responsibility, community engagement, cooperation, leadership qualities, and value-based living among B.Ed. teacher trainees. The programme provided an experiential learning platform where students actively participated in community-oriented activities while living collectively in a rural setting.

The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. M. P. Narayananunni, Principal, with overall coordination by Mr. Kunhimoideen P, Vice Principal and IQAC Coordinator, and Mrs. Bindu C, Camp Coordinator. The programme was meticulously planned to ensure holistic development through a blend of academic, social, cultural, environmental, and service-oriented activities. The venue, Aashrayam Rural Development Society, offered an ideal environment for students to understand rural life, social challenges, and community dynamics firsthand.

Throughout the four days, the participants engaged in various activities such as community interaction sessions, cleanliness and sanitation drives, awareness programmes, group discussions, cultural activities, life-skill training sessions, and cooperative tasks aimed at promoting unity and mutual understanding. Emphasis was laid on teamwork, discipline, democratic values, environmental consciousness, and inclusive living. The camp also sensitized students to rural development initiatives and the role of education in social transformation.

The Community Living Camp significantly contributed to enhancing students’ interpersonal skills, empathy, leadership abilities, and social commitment. Living together away from the campus helped students develop self-reliance, adaptability, and a sense of collective responsibility. The programme aligned with the institutional goals of character building, social outreach, and experiential learning, thereby strengthening the practical component of teacher education.

The camp concluded successfully with a reflective session where participants shared their experiences and learning outcomes. “ഇവിടം 2K25” proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, leaving a lasting impact on the professional and personal development of the teacher trainees and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community-oriented education.
